Hey, I was at this show! I went with my older sister when she was a grad student at UMass. Not the most exciting of sets, but it was the first time I heard Dark Star live.

While the show was not too exciting, I'll always remember the innocence of my big sister - as we were walking in I warned her:

me: "just to give you a heads-up: there's going to be a lot of pot smoking in there"

her: "really?"

me: "yes"

her: "Actually I doubt it... Mullins Center is non-smoking"

It was all I could do not to laugh in her face at that. There was another humorous exchange once we got in there:

dude next to me (offering me a joint): "hey man, want a hit of this?"

me (eating starburst): "no thanks"

my sister: "wow, people are so nice here! ...you should offer him some of your starburst."

Great story, made me laugh at a similar experience I had. I took a co-worker to a Phish show at Deer Creek back in 2000. We got 20th row center stage tickets from a business partner. She was a casey casem top 40s yupee. Watching her experience the jam band scene was more entertaining than the actual show.
